The first race at Enghien was organised in 1879.  Enghien became part of the five racetracks of the League of Suburbs (walking, Vésinet, Saint-Ouen, Maisons-Laffitte and Enghien), created in 1886 by the Société Sportive d’Encouragement, which bought it in 1921.  A paved runway was built in 1922 for the trot.

Managed since 1997 by the Société d’Encouragement du Cheval French, the racetrack is fully available for obstacle courses organised by France Galop.

Enghien Racecourse is located 23 km from Hyatt Regency Paris - Charles de Gaulle.
